Art, Reinterpreted
Any work of art is an expression of its artist, imbued with their life essence. The Feeds the Soul project is built upon this belief. Incepted in 2023, the first Feeds the Soul album has since been interpreted by artists of varied mediums. Next, each artistic output will be reinterpreted back into music to form a new sonic descendant.
Diverse Musical Expression
This project aims to capture the full spectrum of human emotion. Thus, each album in this interconnected series must meet certain criteria:
The album must be exactly 12 tracks in length.
Each track must be a different key, with no repeating root notes.
Tracks must be ordered according to the circle of fifths
All songs on each album must be the same BPM
Halftime and double-time are allowed.
Each track must use elements of the track which inspired the art that is being reinterpreted, where applicable.
These can be samples of the full song, or individual stems.
Artistic Freedom
Those who contribute non-musical works are given free reign over creative direction of their work(s), so long as they produce one of the following:
A single composite piece, representing an album as a whole
A series of pieces, with one per track of the album.
Realizing this vision would not be possible without the contributions from artists located across the country.
